It's been 9 days since the day I knew our baby lost her heartbeat. So ironic that our 1st miscarriage was on d 13th of Sept, and few days ago.. our 2nd miscarriage was 14th Oct! I've been thinking.. what has caused this miscarriage? What have I been doing or consuming that the baby has not been growing healthily?
Was it because I've been lifting heavy weights? coz i remember, i've been lifting my eldest son so much lately... i dont know why but he seems so attached to me... Other than that, I've been very busy both work-wise and family function-wise. I get tired easily lately that my husband realized about it too...
So I've been browsing in the net, looking for other answers,.. and I found this site listing the precautions on having a healthy pregnancy. Some are like listed below:
- Maintain a proper diet loaded with folic acid and calcium. I've been consuming Folic Acid since the 2nd day knowing about my pregnancy.. and I've also been consuming Anmum Materna Milk.. so i guess these wasn't the main cause.
- Exercise after you've gotten your doctor's OK. Well, I haven't done any extreme exercising except for climbing up and down the stairs.. which is a must in my work place. No elevators provided!
- Maintain a healthy weight (women who are overweight or too thin are more likely to have miscarriages). I'm not over o under weight!
- Avoid drugs and alcohol. Ok, For sure this is a HUGE No No for me.. Not doing it at All... Astaghfirullahh!
- Avoid deli meats and soft cheeses such as feta and other foods that could carry listeriosis. Now.. I'm lost here... Cheese? Cheddar cheese still ok kan?
- Limit caffeine drinks to no more than 1 to 2 cups a day Uhuh!. I don't drink Coffee during my pregnancy yes... but!!! I drank Green tea!
My all time fave is this! the Jasmine Green Tea
I used to ask Hubby to buy me this during my 8th week of pregnancy... which was during my busiest week early October. Drinking it make me feel fresh. But stopped drinking it when a colleague warned me not to drink it during pregnancy due to its caffeine content.
So there I was, browsing through the internet on the contains of green tea and how bad it is for pregnant women or those who are trying to conceive. Guess what I found?!
"Doctors usually advise mothers to-be to take folic acid supplement when trying to conceive and during the first trimester of pregnancy. This is because folic acid enables the production of DHFR, which helps ensure the baby's neural tube develops normally. Drinking large amount of green tea reduces DHFR. While this prevents cancer, it increases the risk of neural tube birth defect. This explains why previous studies associate high consumption of green tea with neural tube defect. If you are drinking green tea when pregnant, you might want to drink less, or avoid it altogether, especially in the first trimester.
Green tea contains caffeine and tannic acid. High consumption has been linked to fertility problems. In particular, caffeine crosses the placenta and has been associated with spontaneous abortion, intrauterine growth retardation, and low birth weight." Source
I know a dear one who loves to drink green tea. I hope when she reads this she wont be drinking green tea anymore since she is trying to conceive for months oredi...
I've been talking to dear hubby about my findings.. he said, the next time I get pregnant, I need to be aware of what I eat and do.. for now, i can drink the green tea, but as soon as i become pregnant.. i need to stop right away. He also mention that we need to be extra careful as we were during our 1st pregnancy (Amzar) after our 1st miscarriage.
Anyhow I'll just wait for the result during the appointment at the gynae clinic within 6 weeks.
Btw, other sites on green tea and its effects for further readings are:

Sometimes miscarriage also happened when we're lack of nutrition, just like what's happen to me before. 3 miscarriages in a row!
Tambah lagi bila umur sudah meningkat ni, lagi banyak organ yang dah tak functioning at optimum level, thats why we need nutritions to generate our cells in order to improve our organ functioning.
Just 2 cents from me, based on my experiences and knowledge :)
Take care my dear!
hmm...sabar sja my dear..u cant turn back time..well it's true wat i said then..u drink too much green tea..bah after this just bcareful sja ok..love ya *hugs*
